Whitley Bay Rotary Club Council Members
Council members are elected or volunteer from the general body of our Rotary Club and make up a small group of Rotarians who share the overall day to day running and organisation of the club.
Rotary clubs may vary in their structure, but Whitley Bay consists of the following named organisational roles with additional none specific ones;
- President
- Senior Vice-President
- Junior Vice-President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Club Service Officer
- Charity Officer
- Community Officer
- International Officer
- Press Officer
- Immediate Past-President
Council meets approximately once a month and ‘chats through’ the operating strategy of the club. These meeting are informal but are noted by the club assistant secretary as a record for club members to see.
For instance, at a typical council meeting we would discuss finance, or which charities we can support, what collections and fund raising activities are needed, community or social activities to be planned, what visits may be organised to factories, museums or places of interest, etc...
In short, their role is to oversee the practical and working mechanics of the club and its activities; whether we are out and about working in the community or occupied in some social or other activity.
