Teaming Up With 21st Whitley Bay Scouts and the Mityana Community Development Foundation
On a recent visit to our club Carolyn Taylor and Claire Gauld, trustees of the Mityana School Development in Uganda, explained the issues they were experiencing in helping to support their oversees project at Kigogozi Primary School in Mityana.
One of the issues they raised was the lack of clean water and its availability.
Club president Richard Hart said, "It has been a pleasure to meet you both, but also to be able to tell you that we have now been able to contact our fellow Rotary Club in Mityana and are able to put together a joint venture from both clubs. This will allow us to purchase fifteen small Aquafilters, which will be delivered at the end of August.
In addition, we wish to make you a further donation of £300.00. This will go towards the rebuilding of a classroom in the school and we hope to be able to match fund this donation from our Rotary District fund, which will make up the donation to £600.00."

President Richard concluded that he hoped that this new initiative from our club in supporting the schools rebuilding programme would be the start of a long lasting relationship with our oversea partners and the school.
