WHITLEY BAY ROTARY CLUB GOES BRIGHT RED….AGAIN !!!

Bright Red – fighting blood cancer for a brighter future. That was the topic presented to the club at a recent meeting by Ashley Elliot from the ‘Bright Red’ charity based at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care at the Freeman Hospital.
Ashley spoke about how blood cancers can affect anyone saying, "We aim to improve the lives and treatment of those in the North who are dealing with blood cancer. Our charity relies on the generosity of the public, so this donation of £1,000 means a great deal to everyone involved. Past donations from Whitley Bay Rotary Club have been used to purchase three visitors beds, which have made such a difference to relatives who are looking after loved ones.
We will be using this donation in a similar way, but this time it will be to improve the environment of the ward with a coat of paint and new decorations. So, we are particularly grateful for your continued support."
President John Clarkson said, "I am delighted to welcome back Ashley to our club and to present ‘Bright Red’ with a cheque for £1,000."
Adding that, "This donation will enable ‘Bright Red’ to improve the environment of the ward and perhaps make the visits a little less stressful."
In reply Ashley said, "May I add how delighted I am not only to receive another cheque on behalf of Bright Red, but also to be made so welcome once again in such a warm and energetic club. Thank you."
