For the past sixty-nine years our club has been acknowledging the achievements of four local students in the community by presenting them with a cup, certificate and a cash voucher.
This year at a special meeting in November the awards were presented by North Tyneside Council Chairman, Cllr. Janet Hunter to the four winners from Monkseaton and Whitley Bay High Schools.
All the winners spoke for a short period of time outlining what they had had achieved in the community and their schools.
President Richard Hart said, "I am delighted to welcome you all here tonight and to share with you all the wonderful achievements you have made theses last twelve months. It just goes to show that though many young people receive a poor press, you have shown that there are many who don’t. Thank you."
Once the students had been presented with their cups and cash prizes the club was delighted to invite the students and staff for an evening meal.
Cllr. Janet Hunter then rounded off the evenings proceedings.
