‘FIREWORKS ON THE LINKS’

Thank You from The Rotary Club of Whitley Bay

The rotary club members of Whitley Bay club and our president John Clarkson would like to take this opportunity of thanking all those thousands of people who gave so generously at the firework display on the Links last Sunday.
President John said, "I am pleased that once again we were able to support our local council at their annual fireworks display on the Links. I thought the display this year maintained that very high standard that the council has set themselves over the last few years, and in view of the financial situation we all appreciated a display such as this for so many thousands of people to enjoy."
President John added, "In addition to thanking our council, I would also like to mention the generosity of the people of North Tyneside who once again made such wonderful donations. On the night, we collected £570.90 which we shall now be using to add to our previous collections in supporting local charities in our area."

In the coming months our Rotary club will be supporting a range of events and activities including the St Nicholas Festival over the weekend in December and our annual Christmas events will centre around the Park View Shopping Mall, where we shall be supporting Santa Claus on his ‘weekly visit to Whitley Bay’.

The proceeds from these collections will again go to local charities which we will be announcing in the coming weeks.

Once again, the club would like to thank North Tyneside Council for allowing us the opportunity to support them and also for giving us their support in our fund raising activities in the area.

We are always looking to help good causes and charities in the area and if you feel this could be your organisation, please do not hesitate the club by emailing us on enquiries@whitleybayrotaryclub.co.uk or by telephoning 07419 736989.
