‘FIREWORKS ON THE LINKS’
Thank You from The Rotary Club of Whitley Bay
The club members of Whitley Bay Club and President Terry Took would like to take this opportunity of thanking all those thousands of people who gave so generously at the firework display on the Links.
President Terry said, "I am pleased that once again we were able to support our local council at their annual Fireworks Display on the Links. I thought the display this year maintained that very high standard that the council have set themselves these last few years, and in view of the financial situation, we all appreciated a display such as this for so many thousands of people to enjoy."
President Terry added, "In addition to thanking our council, I would also like to mention the generosity of the people of North Tyneside who once again made such amazing donations. On the night, we collected £462.46 which we shall now be using to add to our previous collections. The money will be used to support local charities in our area."
In the coming months our Rotary Club will be supporting a range of events and activities including, the St Nicholas Festival over the weekend in December and our annual Christmas events will centre around the Park View Shopping Mall, where we shall be supporting Santa Claus on his ‘weekly visit to Whitley Bay’.
The proceeds from these collections will again go to local charities and this will be announced in the coming weeks. Information is found elsewhere on this website.
Once again, the club would like to thank North Tyneside Council for allowing us the opportunity to support them, and also for giving us their support in our fund raising activities in the area.
