THE LIGHTS GO ON AT THE FORUM

The North Tyneside Disability Forum (NTDF) in Shiremoor enjoyed festive celebrations at their centre recently when the Christmas tree lights went on after their annual Christingle event - a world celebratory service with seasonal ukulele music. Members of NTDF came together with guests from the Rotary Club, St Mary’s Parish Church and Whitley Lodge Community Spirit.

NTDF, founded in 1987, works with young people and adults within the borough who have a range of differing needs running social activities, support groups, projects and events with a strong ethos of “something for everyone”. A range of activities takes place throughout the year including summer talent singing, comedy, drama and dance competitions and of course the annual Christingle service.

President Terry Took said how delighted he was that the club had been able to supply the Disability Forum with a Christmas tree, but also to help to make this an annual event of music, laughter, carols and good will.
