Christmas Cheer at
North Tyneside Disability Forum
The North Tyneside Disability Forum (NTDF) in Shiremoor enjoyed festive celebrations at the Christingle and tree lighting ceremony, donated by Whitley Bay Rotary Club. At an afternoon Christingle service with seasonal ukulele music, members of NTDF came together with guests from the Rotary Club and St Mary’s Parish Church for fun, laughter and fellowship.
The Forum, founded in 1987 works with young people and adults within the borough who have a range of differing needs; running social activities, support groups, projects and events with a strong ethos of “something for everyone”. A range of activities takes place throughout the year including summer talent type singing, comedy, drama and dance competitions and at Christmas – a Christingle Service led by Canon Rachel Wood with lots of carol singing!
Sue Adams, Chief Officer at NTDF said, “The centre is a fabulous resource for those wishing to access the services we provide and we are thrilled to have been able to add a wonderful festive touch thanks to kind donations made by the Whitley Bay Rotary Club and the support of St Mary’s Parish Church.”
Current President Rod Clark said; “Whitley Bay Rotary Club is glad to be back amongst friends at the Disability Forum and I’ve enjoyed the carol singing so much I’ve lost my voice’’ much to the delight of his wife and fellow members!!
