'Click'....And The Forum's Got Some New Technology

North Tyneside Disability Forum (NTDF) is delighted to take receipt of a touch screen up to date all singing and dancing lap top computer for their young peoples' performance work.  The new piece of equipment is £500 of essential technology and it comes at a time when the group desperately need it.
Whitley Bay Rotary Club President David Wilkinson and Community Service Chairman Tore Skjaerstad met with members of NTDF young people’s project at their base at the Shiremoor Centre to see the new machine, try it out, and look at the range of functions and new possibilities now on offer to them.
Sue Adams, Chief Officer of NTDF explained, "When our performance lap top finally expired, we were devastated – NTDF uses voice activated software, British Sign Language captions and subtitling and we need a light weight, high quality machine with bags of memory that can be used by everyone regardless of disability."
President David added, "We are delighted to be able to supply the new PC to help the young people projects, with arts, music, drama and dance routines. I know this will make a huge difference to the sharing and reviewing of their work. I am also particularly looking forward to coming back to the Forum in the summer months to see the PC in action when the 'Forums Got Talent' is show cased once again."
The new laptop, complete with commemorative plaque from the Rotary Club of Whitley Bay, will now enable the Forum to record sound, visual performances, share performances, watch films and presentations, and be able to present information and make promotions to show others what they can do.
In addition, they will be able to see video clips, find a voice to represent their views, whilst storing photos, using social media and show words for songs and music with text and subtitles.
