An Evening of ‘Petanque!!’
Well, not sure how you spell it, not sure how you pronounce it, not sure we knew how to play it either, but it’s a French version of the boules sport - I think??
So, we all met at the Wheatsheaf Pub on our usual Tuesday night club meeting, carried a beer out to the back garden where we studied the ‘Petanque’ square, got the basic rules from our President Rod (who turned out to be an expert and eventually won!!!) and off we went.
And what a cracking evening of laughter, ribbing, ribald remarks and a subtle underlying competitiveness there was too.

The evening ended with a lovely meal in the pub afterwards, more beer and plenty of discussion on the vagaries of the winning team!!!
