For many years in the Whitley Bay Club Rotary Club, it has been the custom to take the out-going president and his partner out to lunch, as a thank you for his time and year in office.
The lunch, usually at a surprise venue (though not always the best kept secret!) is organise by the incoming president, in this case David Wilkinson.
This year the lunch was at Kirkley Hall, Northumberland, better known as an Agricultural College, but also now in recent times as a lunch and restaurant venue.
