Rotary Wheels to Mark 100 Years
CELEBRATING OUR CENTENARY YEAR 1923 - 2023
As we come to the end of one hundred years of Rotary in Whitley Bay, 1923 – 2023 we have marked the occasion with the erection of Rotary Wheels on three of the towns’ major approach roundabouts.
For the last twelve months we have been working with North Tyneside Council to make this possible and though at time we have faced a few logistical difficulties, we are now delighted to have finally successfully completed the erection of the ‘big yellow wheels’ this week.
All the wheels have been manufactured locally by Renown Engineering Ltd, Cramlington and we are particularly grateful to John Lynn Building Services Ltd who directed and managed operations, on the evening’s installation, whilst our members mostly stood around and watched!!
Thank you John, Renown and the Council for enabling the project to proceed and show that Whitley Bay Rotary is very much part of North Tyneside and its communities.
So, for those of you who are local see if you can spot them on your way into or out of Whitley Bay, they are big, yellow, and show we are operational in our community.
If you think we could help you, your local charity or a good cause, then please contact us via our Facebook page, Website or mobile phone – 07419 736989.
