John Clarkson - President for 2023 - 2024
ROTARY HANDOVER IN CENTENARY YEAR
In June 2023, Whitley Bay Rotary welcomed John Clarkson as our president and he made the following comments as he began his special year.
“It is a privilege and an honour to be elected as President in this our Centenary Year.
This year is already proving to be very busy as we prepare to celebrate our Centenary in style with a lunch at the Spanish City on 29th October, 2023. Thanks to my colleagues who have already helped to ensure this event goes smoothly but preparations continue to ensure a successful event.
It is important that as our Centenary approaches we take the time to remember what has been achieved by Rotarians over the last one hundred years both locally and internationally. We will continue to fund raise and help the most deserving charities in both our community and the wider Rotary community.
We have already identified a number of projects for our Centenary year, many of which are intended to raise the profile of Rotary in Whitley Bay.
We will continue to work with local schools and provide assistance for students who embark on international projects.
As ever I will request assistance from everyone in the Club to ensure we deliver our objectives. Finally, let us celebrate our one hundred years and continue to build on the work started by others."
